We strongly believe in the power of teamwork and collaboration, and we strive to create a space where all athletes feel valued and respected. Through various initiatives, such as mentorship programs and team-building activities, we aim to promote a sense of unity and camaraderie among our athletes.
Fourthly, we are actively engaging with the wider community to raise awareness about the importance of gender equality in sports.
We organize events, and seminars to educate and inspire individuals about the benefits of inclusivity. By spreading this message, we hope to create a ripple effect that will lead to a more inclusive future for sports.
In conclusion, at our Basketball Academy, we strongly believe that the future of sport lies in an inclusive approach and equal opportunities for both genders. Through our actions and initiatives, we are committed to breaking down barriers, promoting inclusivity, and inspiring the next generation of athletes.
What a ride it’s been for our U18 Men’s team!
A squad defined by hard work, resilience, and a commitment to excellence. After an incredible first season in the YBL where we brought home both the U17 League and Cup titles, we took a bold step this year into the U18 Men’s National League Conference and the Sure Shot Junior National Cup — with a full squad of underaged players. Yep, every single player was playing up a level… and they absolutely rose to the challenge.
And what a debut it was.
As Oxfordshire’s only elite performance basketball programme, we take immense pride in developing athletes ready to compete at the highest levels.
From game one to the final buzzer of the season, the boys gave everything, and this season’s campaign was nothing short of extraordinary:
🏆 National League Conference South I – CHAMPIONS
We finished the season with an incredible 19 wins and just 1 loss — top of the table, and deservedly so. The work rate, the team spirit, the commitment... it was all there, every game.
🔥 Sure Shot Junior National Cup – Quarterfinalists
We made it to the last eight teams in the country, and we were the only Conference team to do it. That’s a huge achievement and a phenomenal feat that reflects the strength and growth of our programme.
📈 Western Premier Promotional Round – Round 1
A significant step forward in our mission to rise through the ranks of national competition.
These accomplishments are more than trophies and titles — they reflect our entire community’s dedication. From our hardworking players and dedicated coaching staff to our ever-supportive parents, and the generous backing of our sponsor Pearn Kandola, thank you for making this dream season a reality.
Now, after a well-earned Easter break, the team is already gearing up for the 2025/26 season. Between May and July, our off-season programme next to specific skills enhancement and start to focus on functional movement and strength development, will include an intensive preparation phase with 6–8 friendly games lined up. The momentum continues, and the standard stays high.
At Oxford Elite, we are not just building teams, and these achievements don’t just celebrate our club — we are shaping future leaders, athletes, and role models. We hope this season’s success will inspire more youth and young people in the Oxford-Oxfordshire community to get involved, dream big, and see what’s possible with challenging work and the right support, be part of something special.
Here’s to a brilliant season — and an even bigger one ahead.
Congratulations to everyone involved — we’re just getting started.
Let’s go, Oxford Elite!

Every game meant going up against older, stronger, and more experienced players but that meant we pushed harder.
Winning the league while being the youngest player on the team felt like an amazing achievement. Winning the league also showed us all that hard work, determination and desire is just as important as skill and talent.
During the Elite program, every session pushed us past our limits, physically and mentally. It taught us discipline and how to perform under pressure.
What made us champions wasn’t just talent; it was the hard work and the team spirit. We showed up when it mattered, played as a team, and stayed focused the whole season. That's what separated us from everyone else.

The season also the programme was challenging and demanding; challenging in that we were underage competing against players that were much physically stronger, and demanding in that we had to work extremely hard in our training sessions every week. This tough preparation however, led us to achieve many great things this season, and have many memorable memories as a result of our commitment to this amazing programme. Our dedication and hard work, along with our strong relationships off the court propelled us to be an incredibly strong force on the court. Playing underage was an incredibly tough challenge, especially with so many talented players in various different teams, however Coach, ensured we were always prepared for every challenge, pushing us to be become great. I think our achievements impact our community positively in various ways, for example a large number of people in our schools recognise that we are a serious programme, with many impressive individual and collective achievements, and are proud of us.

For sure the season we had came with many challenges and the main one was playing underage, against players that were stronger and bigger than us. However as a team we were definitely up to the challenge and so we had to work harder than every team and in the end we got 1st place in our conference. Although the programme was difficult physically and mentally, but it helped us as players and people to learn discipline, respect and to work hard all the time to give the best you can. In addition our achievements have brought together people in our community closer as they watch the games and everyone supports each other, and it has also influenced others to play basketball for the club like the u13s and the Girls team.

Going into this season we knew this would be no ordinary season. Playing up an age group is never easy, and the physicality, pace, and experience we faced each week were real tests of character. But what we lacked in age, we made up for in heart, discipline, and belief. Every challenge became an opportunity to grow, and match after match, we proved that grit and teamwork can close any gap. Finishing in 1st place wasn’t just a victory on paper it was a testament to the courage and maturity of a group that refused to be defined by our age. Our journey wouldn’t have been possible without the Elite Programme. The intensity, structure, and standards demanded by the club shaped us not just as players, but as people. Every session pushed us to be better, to think quicker, and to trust each other more. It wasn’t just about skills, it was about mindset. What makes us champions isn’t just talent. It’s the way we trained when no one was watching, the commitment to each other, because that was what made us Elite.

This season was one of the hardest seasons to play being underaged and being a newly formed team. However we still managed to come out on top. It took a lot of work and a lot of time to accomplish what we have. I have nobody else to that but my parents and our coach. Without them both I would never of reached this milestone.

Following a perfect debut season in the 2023/24 YBL U17 competition, where our underage team defied the odds and clinched both the Cup and League trophies, Oxford Elite Academy is thrilled to announce that our U18 Men team has been accepted into the National League competition under Basketball England for the 2024/25 season
This exciting development marks a significant milestone for our club as we continue to build on the remarkable achievements of our young athletes. Competing in the NBL U18 Men Conference South One, our team will face some of the most good basketball programs in the region. Among our opponents are the Bracknell Cobras, Farnborough Phantoms, Reading Rockets Academy, Woking Blackhawks, Salisbury Sparks, Aylesbury Dux, Surrey Rams, Swindon Shock, Abingdon Eagles, and Oxford Hoops.
These clubs boast high-level basketball programs, presenting a formidable challenge for our U18 Men. However, with the talent, dedication, and team spirit that our boys have consistently demonstrated, we are confident they will rise to the occasion and make their mark on the National League stage.
Coach Roman said : ,,As we gear up for the new season, it's clear that the challenge ahead is significant. After our incredible achievements in the 23/24 season, stepping into the National League will undoubtedly push our Elite Programme to new heights. However, I have full confidence in our squad. Our returning players are exceptionally talented, and the new additions have only strengthened our team, making us highly competitive in the Conference League. We’re committed to working extremely hard and taking on this challenge step by step, ensuring we grow and improve with each game. I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our parents for their unwavering support and to our sponsors, Pearn Kandola and Domino's Pizza, for their continued commitment to our Elite Programme. Together, we’re ready to make this season one to remember.,,
The 2024/25 season is set to be an exhilarating journey, and we eagerly anticipate the opportunity to compete at this advanced level. We extend our best wishes to the players and coaching staff as they embark on this new chapter. The entire Oxford Elite Academy community is behind you, and we are excited to see our boys continue to develop and showcase their skills on a bigger platform.
Good luck to our U18 Men in the upcoming season—let’s make it one to remember!
